With only a week to go before 2011 comes to a close, it is already past time for a woman to have made plans for New Year’s Eve, including special hairstyles to ring in the event with style. This is the one night of the year when caution should be swept aside to make room for an outrageous hair creation that will dazzle your friends and family and leave lasting memories for long after the celebration is over. If you can’t seem to make up your mind about which cut will suit you best, maybe a few of the following looks can serve as an inspiration.

For a woman that doesn’t mind the challenge of constructing a gravity-defying work of art, the creation by Melissa Bortuluzzi may be worth a deeper look. Balancing elegance and creativity, this hairstyle plays up the disparity between smooth organization and carefree indifference. The line of the bangs is informed by a traditional page boy cut, but the rearrangement of the back hair suggests something much more wild. The updo is made by moving the hair from the back to the top of the head and then securing it with clips or pins. The back is then teased to be wavy and loose. To pull of this artistic endeavor, a woman must have at least medium length hair. While it is not mandatory to dye it black, the darker color makes a much more dynamic appearance than blond or brown. As this hairstyle will take a decent bit of work, it may be a good idea to schedule an appointment early to beat the rush of holiday celebrators.

If conservatism makes a better fit for the woman than a bold statement, perhaps a refined updo will make a better choice. While it is not celebrating the true spirit of “out with the old and in with the new,” a reserved updo can be a great way to start the new year, complete with a sense of elegance and refinement. Similar to the previous style, this updo could take a few hours to get ready, so it may be worth planning ahead. The bangs are shaped with a small fringe that curves upwards to add some classic appeal. For the actual bun, the hair is straightened and then twisted, being held together with a series of bobby pins. To get the desired effect from this look, a woman would be best served with a medium to dark brown color and longer hair.
New Year’s Eve is a time for celebration, both to look back at the highs and lows of the previous year and to make goals for the upcoming one. In the small space of time between the two years, a woman should be able to look great and be full of confidence with a stunning hairstyle. With time running out, the time is now to find a good version and make an appointment with a stylist to make sure that the woman is not stuck with her old hairstyle heading into the new year.
