5 Tips To Help You Manage Your Short Hairstyle

Of all the hairstyles you can sport, styling the hair short can make you look modern, smart and professional. And if you do have short hair, and are looking for ways to manage it better, then the following tips will certainly be of help.

Dry It Before Bed

If you have a habit of washing your hair at night, then make sure that you dry it out completely before you hit the bed.  If you sleep with damp hair, then your hair will look flattened when you wake up in the morning, and it can become difficult for you to style it properly. The hair will also be bent at very odd angles. Plus, it will also have less volume than usual.

Products

Do not use too many products on your short hair as this can end up causing damage to it. And when using shampoos, make sure that they do not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate. As far as possible, use natural products that have fewer chemicals in them. This will ensure that your hair is not bombarded with too many unwanted ingredients which can slowly make it weak, dry and brittle.

Texturize

If you have trouble styling your short hair, then you should consider applying a texturizer on it. This should be able to help you style it any way you want. You can also use an anti-frizz lotion in case you don’t have a texturizer. But whatever you choose, remember to apply the product only on dry hair.  And if you have curly hair, then the best way to manage the frizz and style the hair easily is to get a hot oil treatment for your hair.

Heating

If you want your short hair to be relaxed, then you should avoid applying too much heat on it. If you are using heating tools to achieve curls and other styles, try replacing it with tools like magnetic rollers and such. And if there is an occasion where you have no choice but to use a heating tool on your hair, make sure that you apply a hair protective serum before using heat on the hair. And remember to keep the heat at around 300 to 350 degrees. Anything more than that is unnecessary.

Deep Condition

Remember to deep condition your hair regularly, at least once every two weeks. This will help the hair remain strong and healthy while helping it retain moisture. After applying the conditioner, keep it that way for about 40 minutes or so. And only then decide to wash it off. This will make the hair more resistant to damage from excessive styling or manipulation.

And if you are planning to shorten the hair, and want to know as to which of the many beautiful short hairstyles for women will be suitable for you, the best thing you can do is to create a list of short hairstyles you like and consult a good hairstylist. They should be able to tell which style will look good on you after taking into account the shape of your face and the texture of your hair.
